Send Friend to a home

"Send Home a Friend" is a program launched by the Government of Nepal, to be implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in partnership with the growing Nepali diaspora. The program is expected to boost Nepal's tourism making use of Nepali contacts all over the world. It has been designed with the non-residential Nepalis, who have time and again reiterated their keenness to contribute to Nepal, as key players with the most important role.

This is the first tourism program that seeks to make most of the immense potential of the Nepali diaspora for promoting Nepal. Through the program, the non-residential Nepalis can work in partnership with Government of Nepal and NTB, and contribute to our economic development by promoting the biggest resource of the country – tourism.

Success of the program depends on the non-residential Nepalis, who through their "Word of Mouth" recommendation and networking will be expected to motivate their friends, colleagues, relatives, acquaintances to visit Nepal, thereby, increasing the number of tourists visiting the country, and creating global awareness about Nepal as a premier tourism destination.
For your convenience, we have developed an informative and user friendly "Send Home a Friend" web site www.sendhomeafriend.com , where you can register yourselves, record information about your potential guests, access information about the program and about Nepal. NTB will acknowledge such registrations and keep the records through this web site. The person or organization with the maximum number of referrals will be honored and their contribution will be recognized by the Government of Nepal at the end of the year.

We will provide you with the information about Nepal that you need to distribute to interested parties or individuals. We will also keep an NTB official as focal person for the program, so that you have access to the information available here at NTB and for any queries or comments.
In Nepal, your friends will be our special guests! With prior information about arrival, your friends will be welcomed at the Kathmandu airport. At NTB we will present them with an information package, a souvenir and a privilege card through which they can get discounts at domestic airlines, restaurants, shopping malls, department stores and souvenir shops.

Nepal is the land of Mt. Everest; it is the birth place of Lord Buddha; and it is the home of 23.1 million people living 101 different ways of life and speaking more than 92 different languages. The heart of Nepal is capital city Kathmandu, where a potpourri of colorful cultures thrive independently, and testimonies of the glorious past live in harmony with the modern day reality. Every part of Nepal is exotic in its own way. It is a dream come true for every passionate traveler seeking the authentic experience of another land, another place. The towering snow-capped peaks, rich nature and culture, and very special people together stamp an imperishable memory in the mind of the visitors. With such rich heritage, tourism is one of the main resources of the country and also the most potential factor for economic development in Nepal. It is one of the highest foreign currency earners and every tourist arriving in Nepal creates jobs at different levels for 8 to 9 Nepalis. Responsible tourism benefits the community, raises awareness about preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and leads to sustainable development. Our need for a tool for sustainable-development and our great tourism potential, together call for making tourism a top priority in today's context.
